‘Patralekhaa as a co-star makes my job easy’
ACTOR RAJKUMMAR RAO SAYS PARTNER PATRALEKHAA IS ONE OF HIS FAVOURITE COSTARS, AND THE FACT THAT BOTH OF THEM ARE ACTORS, HELPS THEIR RELATIONSHIP
Rajkummar Rao has worked with several actors in over seven years in the industry, but girlfriend Patralekhaa, who was paired opposite him in CityLights (2014 and a recent web series, is one of his favourite co-stars.
“I was happy to work with her in the web series, because she’s a wonderful actor, and one of my favourite co-stars. I am not saying this because we are in a relationship. She is committed to what she does, and such co-stars make your job easy,” the Newton (2017) actor says. However, Rajkummar makes it clear that they won’t take up a project together, unless the characters are sketched out well. “When we work together, it is always about the character and how we can make the scene better. We share the same passion when it comes to acting, but we are also particular about the kind of roles we choose to do,” he says. Not one to shy away from talking about his personal life, Rajkummar says that it helps to have an actor and co-star for one’s partner. “It does help that Patralekhaa is an actor. We love talking about acting and films. Besides this, we also share a common interest in travel,” he says. On the work front, Rajkummar is looking forward to working on the exciting line-up of films in his kitty. “I am thrilled, as I am working with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in Fanne Khan, with Sonam Kapoor in Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga, and with Shraddha Kapoor in a quirky horror comedy. I also have Hansal Mehta’s Omerta releasing sometime soon,” he shares.
