Venue: Cross Maidan Time: 8.30pm to 9.30pm The event presented by Skoda Auto is a solo tabla recital by maestro Ustad Zakir Hussain, who will be accompanied by Sabir Khan on sarangi. Ustad Zakir Hussain is considered one of the most important personalities in shaping the contemporary world music movement. He is often credited for taking the tabla to world stage with his numerous collaborations. He has shown to the world that the tabla, which was considered a mere percussion before his era, could be used as a main instrument at concerts. Many young aspiring percussionists have been inspired by him and he has paved the way for several Indo-Western collaborations.
