Deepika ranks third on Top Actors Chart

Amid controversies galore, Deepika Padukone’s last release, Padmaavat opened to a great response and the actor has been in a happy space since then. While she received lots of compliments from Bollywood veterans, and fans, and Padmaavat became her seventh film to join the 100-crore club, yet another honour has come her way now.

The actor ranks third on the The Hollywood Reporter’s Top Actors chart, which is a ranking of the most popular actors on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Youtube and Google Plus, with global data provided by social media analytics company MV Pindex. While Priyanka Chopra’s co-star from Baywatch, Dwayne Johnson tops the list, Kevin Hart takes the second position and Deepika is on the third position. This tracking ended on January 30, before which Deepika was on the eighth position but has now moved up to number three.

A source close to the actor reveals that Deepika is thrilled with the honour. “Her character of Serena from her Hollywood debut XXX- the Return of the Xander Cage (2017) brought in a lot of popularity, making her an international name overnight. Padmaavat too, was widely spoken about on social media, because of the controversies the film went through before it released. Her popularity in the last two weeks skyrocketed and she moved up five spaces on the list.”

Other actors who are part of the list after Deepika are Millie Bobby Brown, Dove Cameron, Jennifer Lopez, Gal Gadot and Priyanka Chopra, who now stands on eighth.

Deepika’s spokesperson says, “Deepika Padukone’s online family has only grown stronger over time, and it has been overwhelming for her that they keep showering her with so much love and adulation. This time, during Padmaavat’s release , Deepika’s fans created a unique group called DP first day first show and the hashtag trended for hours on the release day. This was unprecedented.”
