I want to change and revamp myself. I want to work on my health this year and focus on my wellbeing. RASHAMI DESAI, ACTOR

Rashami Desai will turn a year older today and she is excited about it. “I am waiting for a cool surprise from my friends,” says the Uttaran actor. She has a group of friends and they plan parties for each other. “I want to feel pampered and special on my birthday. Last year, I couldn’t celebrate my birthday as I had met with an accident and I had to start shooting for my show. So we couldn’t do much. This year, I am expecting a blast.” Currently, the actor says her friends are in Goa but she is sure they will come back to ring in her birthday as she can’t leave her TV shoot and go out of town.

Rashami adds that she doesn’t expect gifts from her loved ones. She says, “We don’t give gifts but a thoughtful gesture is what matters to me. When someone does something special for me, I always cherish it. They take care of my likes and dislikes. It’s the thought that counts and I get emotional.”

After her character went missing from her ongoing TV show, Rashami is back to shooting for it and is enjoying the new shade of her role. “I always try to work on my birthday. It has been fun to come back to the show and play the role with more maturity. That has been challenging. I feel a bit scared at times as I feel if I am not convinced about the scene, the audiences won’t be either, so I have to give my best. Coming back to the sets after the break, it felt like going to school after the holidays (laughs).”

The actor, who lost weight last year, now has a new fitness goal in mind. “I am going to work towards getting abs this year. I want to change and revamp myself. I want to work on my health this year and focus on my well-being.”
