This tale of fun and friendship talks of modern-day dilemmas

-

You are by default a part of a family when you are born into one, but friends are the family you choose for yourself. Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety (SKTKS), which releases today, explores one such friendship between two close friends — Sonu and Titu. Often insufferable, but always inseparable, they are friends who have known each other since kindergarten.

Sonu, played by Kartik Aaryan, takes it upon himself to warn Titu, essayed by Sunny Singh, to not get too emotional about any girl. And, like in many modernday friendships where we depend on our friends to approve of the boy or girl we date, Titu too won’t date anyone without Sonu’s approval. However, he finally makes his own choice and selects Sweety, played by Nushrat Bharucha, to be his bride. Speaking about the concept of the film, director Luv Ranjan says, “The dynamics of relationships in the modern society have changed. Co-existence of different relationships has become even more important today. And at times you get stuck with the dilemma of choosing between two important people in your life. SKTKS tackles that dilemma in a fun spirit.”

Producer Bhushan Kumar adds, “Not just in metropolitan cities but even in tier II and tier III towns, today’s youth seeks approval on little and big things from their friends instead of their families. SKTKS mirrors this reality in a fun way that millenials will find instantly relatable.”

Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety is written and directed by Luv Ranjan. Produced by T-Series’ Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar and Luv Films’ Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg, the film releases today.
