Karan Singh Grover loves spending time in Goa, especially on his birthday. The actor turns a year older today, and all he plans to do is chill on the beaches of Goa with his wife Bipasha Basu Singh Grover. “We haven’t planned anything special. Just take a dip in the sea, spend some time in Goa, go to the gym and eat healthy,” he says.

Karan has been pursuing his interest in art, and credits Bipasha for pushing him to do it. He says, “Since last year, professionally, I have had more avenues to pursue. Being an artist doesn’t limit me to one aspect. I am lucky that I’m inclined towards the performing arts, and creating art and music. I had dabbled in art and music earlier, but never looked at it from a professional point of view. Sometimes, you need a push to realise your potential. One day, Bipasha saw my painting, and said, ‘It’s really nice, why don’t you focus on it? Not many people can do this’. It made sense and gave me the right kind of encouragement.”

Karan hasn’t had a film release since the films Alone and Hate Story came out in 2015. However, he does have a couple of films in the pipeline. He says, “Films are on the way. Things are perhaps waiting for some kind of divine intervention. There are always two ways you can look at things: you can say that it’s frustrating (to wait for films to release) or you can think that you are supposed to focus elsewhere. I am putting a lot of time into art, painting and music. I have a lot of time to do that and things are working out at a fast pace. I have a lot of paintings ready, and hopefully, we will exhibit them soon. I have been writing songs and a few songs are ready too, and they should soon be on their way.”

Karan is also excited to be part of a web series, as he feels “the digital medium lets us create better content as it doesn’t have a prerequisite”.
