Jennifer Winget was eagerly awaiting the release of her debut film in 2015. However, the film, which was directed by and starred Kunal Kohli, couldn’t be released for various reasons until recently, when it was brought to audiences via an online streaming platform. Speaking about the film, Jennifer says, “We had put in a lot of effort and expectations into the film and were expecting it to release at a certain time. This (online) release came out of nowhere and I wasn’t aware of it. One fine day, I learnt that the film was releasing. The response has been good, and I am happy about it.”

Although she was expecting a theatrical release, the actor says she isn’t “feeling bad” that it didn’t happen. “Shooting the film was a special experience, and I was sad when it didn’t re elease, but then we moved on,” ” says Jennifer.

Jennifer had star rted working on the film m after her hit television sh how Saraswatichandra endede in 2014, and didn’t app pear in any TV or film projects until late 2015. Ask her if wait ting for the release while keepin ng the career on hold was frustrating,f she says, “I shot for r a monthand-a-half for the fil lm, and I was in talks for TV shows after that. I never wanted to leave television and still don’t want to. Beyhadh took a little time to get started, and later we spent time preparing for the show. There were a lot of things that kept me motivated, so I was never thinking, ‘now what?’. I wasn’t in a desperate situation, as I had other work.”

The actor feels that “every experience is unlike the other”, and she doesn’t feel sceptical about film projects these days. She says, “I won’t lie and say I have many film offers. I am not really thinking about films right now. TV is keeping me very busy. In the future, though, you never know.”

Jennifer has been busy shooting for her new TV show, but she recently took off to Goa to disconnect. “I like to chill there and live every day without an agenda. I do absolutely nothing out there. I focus right, exercising, chilling, sleeping and try to stay away from technology as much as possible, as it is difficult. I do what I can’t do once I start shooting regularly in Mumbai. I like to take a break from my routine life,” she says.
