Aamir, Salman and Shah Rukh Khan talk about the biggest hichkis of their lives
They haven’t starred in a film together yet but the three Khans — Aamir, Salman and Shah Rukh — have come together to promote Rani Mukerji’s Hichki — directed by Siddharth P Malhotra and produced by Maneesh Sharma — that releases today. The makers of Hichki have come up with a unique idea to promote the film by asking prominent personalities to share their untold weaknesses and how they converted those into massive strengths. The Khans also shared their respective hichkis or hiccups.
For starters, Aamir confesses that his “biggest hichki is my obsessive personality”. “I get obsessed with anything that I do. I am still dealing with it and my struggle to overcome it continues,” says Aamir. While praising Rani and Aditya Chopra’s studio for making a film on a person, who deals with Tourette syndrome, he says: “Hopefully, when I see the film, I will be able to address my hichki.”
As reported by us on Thursday (March 22), Salman reveals that his biggest ‘hichki’ has been that he “used to take my work very casually but that has changed as I take my work with seriousness and sincerity now”. Shah Rukh, on his part, says that he faced the biggest hiccup that anyone could face early on in life — the sudden loss of his parents.
“My greatest hichki has been the death of my parents. I was 15 and 26 when my father and mother passed away respectively. We weren’t financially well off and I was studying for my Master’s degree then. It was very sad. The empty house without my parents used to come to bite us (his sister and me). The loneliness, pain and sadness due to such a loss could have been overwhelming enough to completely take over my life. I decided to overcome this hichki moment by letting acting fill that void in my life,” he says.
