It goes without saying that he is one among the most successful and busiest superstars in Indian cinema right now. But Aamir Khan clearly doesn’t want his Midas touch to be limited to films alone as he wants to use his popularity and success to “positively impact social initiatives” as well.

Not many know that one of Aamir’s initiative, Paani Foundation’s Satyamev Jayate Water Cup has “grown to achieve what the team set out to” in the last three years. In the latest instance, we have come to know that the actor who has been busy shooting for his upcoming film, Thugs Of Hindostan (TOH), is set to “take some time off” along with wife Kiran Rao for Paani Foundation and will be “dedicating two months entirely to personally look into the work.”

In fact, during a recent Facebook Live session, Aamir said that he had been travelling to different villages to have conversations with people from different villages about the Satyamev Jayate Water Cup (a competition in which different villages compete to win prizes for the best watershed management work) and encouraging them about the same.

“Some of the villages have already completed their training. So, Kiran (Rao) and I will travel around Maharashtra during the months of April and May. We [will] go to different villages where work is happening. We [will also] work with the villagers and discover wonderful stories, which are very inspiring,” says the actor, who had started an NGO named Paani Foundation in 2016 with an aim to tackle the challenges brought about by droughts.

“The success that you see in these villages (that have been working with Paani Foundation) is all due to their own efforts. We have not given them any monetary help, only the knowledge and encouragement,” says Aamir, whose film, TOH co-starring Amitabh Bachchan releases in November this year.
