A source close to Radhika says, “She is happy about the government’s initiative to provide low-cost sanitary napkins in rural areas. The scheme will provide a sanita pad packet just for ₹5 to girl students in district schools. Women in rural areas will be e provided packs of sanitary pads for ₹24 or ₹29. The price o the pads has been kept low to ensure that more girls and women can buy them easily.”

Speaking about it, Radhika says, “As we know, menstrual hygiene is an issue women have been facing for a long time. It’s great that the initiative to provide low-cost sanitary napkins has been undertaken. It is an empowering step for many women.”
