Actor Anushka Sharma is set for her maiden tryst with comedy
Be it romcoms, dramas or thrillers, till date, she has tried her hand at genres of all kinds. But now, we have come to know that Anushka Sharma is set to have her maiden tryst with comedy. Sources from the trade world inform that the actor is “really keen” to involve herself with an “outand-out comic caper”. It’s believed that the actor will be producing the film through her own production house.
“Right now, details are very sketchy. But what can be confirmed is that Anushka has been very interested — for a while now — in trying her hand at comedy. Although she as well as her team is tightlipped about it, the project is finally in the process of being put together,” says a trade insider, adding that the actor has “picked up the subject” after a “lot of deliberations with her team”.
It’s still unclear whether Anushka will star in the film or not, but in all likelihood, the yet-untitled film will go on the floors in the first half of 2019. “Anushka will take the call (about starring in the comedy film or not) once she completes her current acting projects. The actor, who has been exploring diverse subjects and taking calculated and successful risks — as an actor as well as a producer — feels that it’s the best time to experiment with comedy,” says the insider.
Sources maintain that the fourth film from her production house is going to be a “full-on entertainer”. “But it will also have a different touch that has become her USP of sorts as a producer,” says the insider.
