Deepika Padukone’s royal look from Padmaavat has inspired several brides to look like queen Padmavati on their wedding day.

Deepika Padukone grabbed eyeballs when she stepped forth as Rani Padmavati in her last outing, Padmaavat. The actor’s distinctive look was a hit with the audiences, and now, we have learnt that Indian brides are asking to be styled just like the actor was in the film.

A source in the fashion industry says, “There has been huge demand for replicating Deepika’s Padmavati look. Brides are opting for the traditional gotta-patti attires, along with ranihaars, chaandbalis, maang tikkas, nose rings and haath phool covering the fingers of the hand. Wearing the bindi higher up on the forehead is another takeaway inspired by Deepika’s look. The edgy eyeliner is also a favourite with wedding makeup artists.”

In the film, the actor had adorned hand-embroidered lehenga cholis with gota work as well as neckpieces that covered the neckline alongside traditional pieces of Rajputana style jewellery. Teaming up the vintage look with minimal make up and a red bindi high on the forehead is a hit, say sources from the fashion industry

A source close to the actor reveals, “Deepika, who is a favourite with the fashion police, is known to set trends often. Be it her role as Shanti from Om Shanti Om (2007), Veronica from Cocktail (2012), Naina from Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013) or as Piku, Deepika’s looks, especially her sartorial choices, have always struck a chord with the audience.”
