Pooja shoots for a song in 15 minutes
Shooting song-and-dance sequences takes a lot of hard work, and preparation, rehearsals and choreography eat up a lot of time. However, when faced with a difficult challenge, actors and film crews can pull off the seemingly impossible. Actor Pooja Hegde, who is currently shooting for a Telugu film in New York City, USA, recently faced a similar challenge when she was told she had only 15 minutes to shoot a song. According to a source from the film’s unit, due to time constraints, the makers were allowed to use the venue for only 15 minutes, so Pooja shot the entire dance sequence in one take.
Pooja says, “Since the location where we were shooting was available only for 15 minutes, we prepared for the song well in advance. Fortunately, the director and the choreographer okayed the shot after one take. Having said that, we had rehearsed for a week, and that helped while shooting, as we wanted to leave no scope for wasting any time.”
Talking about the challenges in shooting in a short span of time, the actor says, “We had to shoot for the song in daylight, and since it’s a busy road, we managed to finish the shoot on time to avoid rush. Also, the challenge was to get the steps right in one take. It’s a typical southern-style dance number and a high energy song. It was interesting to shoot for the song, as I hadn’t attempted a song like this earlier.”
