John and Tiger joke about their (maybe) action film moves

- Prashant Singh

John Abraham has always had a big fan following, not just among his legions of admirers but also his co-stars and even the younger set of Bollywood actors. Be it Akshay Kumar, Varun Dhawan, or Tiger Shroff, they all admit to their fondness for the brawny star. And the feeling is mutual.

“Be it Varun, Tiger or anyone else, even I love all of them, and this feeling comes straight from the heart,” says John, with a smile.

The Dostana actor admits that it’s “great to see [the fellow actors] grow”.

“When you have genuine love and respect [for someone], you are always happy for them and the same holds true vis-àvis my feelings for all the youngsters. It’s a lot of fun to interact with them,” says John. He and Tiger have had discussions about starring in an action film together.

“Both of us keep joking that if we do an action film together, he will be constantly flipping over, while I will be running through the doors and that will be a great combination (laughs). Won’t it be fantastic? Working with Varun in Dishoom was lovely. And I love Rohit Dhawan as a director and a person. I would love to put a gun to his head and tell him that he should work with me in every film,” says John.

Currently, the actor is on a high about the critical acclaim and box-office exploits of his latest film, Parmanu (based on India’s Pokhran nuclear tests in 1998), which is clearly a first-of-its-kind film in his filmography.

“A big producer once told me that my most intelligent choices have been the offbeat ones. I really believe that I have the guts to do something different all the time and stand up for what is right. And somewhere, the audience also holds my hand and is like, ‘this guy can do this.’ I am a motorcyclist. So, I guess I would never take a straight road (smiles). It’s always the offbeat path for me as it’s my way of living and I enjoy that,” says John.
