Fresh from the box-office success of Veere Di Wedding (VDW), Swara Bhasker is back to sets shooting for her next project, the new season of a web series. Apparently, with promoting her new film and working on her upcoming projects, the actor has been stretching her working hours up to 20 hours a day. Talking about her recent success, Swara says, “The success of VDW is still very fresh and I feel blessed. I hope that this will open new doors for me especially now that people have hopefully realised that I can pull off glamourous characters as well. After VDW, I began shooting for my next project. I started work on it literally the day the film released. I am quite overworked but of course, it feels good because ours is an industry where if you are busy, it’s a sign of being successful. And I feel very grateful for it. Also, if you are an actor who has made it on their own, and when you remember what it was like to not have work, then you really value that work a lot. I feel very happy that with Nil Battey Sanata (2016), Anarkali of Aarah (2017) and now Veere Di Wedding or the web series, I am taking up a lot more lead roles, which feels good to any actor. I hope this is a progressive phase of my career.”

Recently, there were rumours that Swara had signed another film under Sonam K Ahuja and Rhea Kapoor’s film banner. About the reports, the actor clarifies, “That’s not true. I haven’t been signed by Sonam or their production house. Sonam and I discuss a lot about both our work and the kind of films we are doing, but I haven’t signed anything new with them. That said, of course, if Sonam and their banner offer me any role I would like to be part of it because I feel as a production house, they are doing some truly fresh and nice work.”

As an actor who has made it on their own, when you remember what it was like to not have work, you really value that work a lot. SWARA BHASKER, ACTOR
