Biopics on national heroes are inspirational: Pankaj Tripathi

- Kavita Awaasthi

It seems like 2018 may be just as eventful for actor Pankaj Tripathi as 2017 was. Last year, the actor worked in acclaimed films like Bareilly Ki Barfi and Fukrey Returns, and even won a National Film Award – Special Mention for Newton, and he has been bagging multiple projects this year as well. Now, Pankaj is looking forward to working with Hrithik Roshan again. The two worked together in Agneepath (2011), where the former played a supporting role as an antagonist, and they will now be seen in Super 30, in which Pankaj will act as Hrithik’s nemesis once more. The film is based on the life of mathematician Anand Kumar and his educational programme.

Speaking about the film, Pankaj says, “My character in Super 30 is negative. He is spontaneous and has a weird sense of humour, which is exciting for me. Working with Hrithik has always been interesting, as he is a brilliant actor and a wonderful human being. When you have a coactor who is amazing, working with them is awesome. We know each other, since we did Agneepath, so there is a level of comfort that helps.”

Ask Pankaj about the trend of biopics in Hindi films, and he says, “I think the more the merrier. In India, there are many known and unknown people who are inspirational personalities. Biopics on their lives should be made so that the whole nation can learn about the heroes we have or had.”
