‘WORKING WITH MANOJ GIVES ME A HIGH’
Sharad Kelkar has developed a great bond with costar Manoj Bajpayee, who he is working with on his next project, a digital series
Sharad Kelkar is currently busy shooting for a digital series with the two-time National Film award winner Manoj Bajpayee. “Working with him gives me a high and great joy. Manoj is a fantastic actor and a superb human being,” says the Bhoomi (2017) actor.
Talking about sharing a bond with Manoj, Sharad adds, “We both come from small towns and we had a lot to talk about. We share common interests including talking, so we talk a lot on the sets (laughs). Food was another factor that we bonded on. He is on a diet but loves food and I understand his love for food. When I got mangoes from Ratnagiri for the unit, he said, ‘I am not allowed to but I will have some’.”
While Sharad has met Manoj a couple of times earlier too, through common friends, he was glad to get an opportunity to work with him. “As an actor, you can learn so much from a talent like him. We spoke about his works and films in general. There are few of his films that I have watched multiple times and it was fun to discuss them with him.”
The 10-episode series, will release next year and is about a special cell agent trying to solve a major case revolving around a sociopolitical problem. “We have been shooting and a major portion is still remaining. We will shoot out of the city too, as we want to avoid shooting in Mumbai during the monsoon. Other than the series, Sharad is currently preparing for the release of his Marathi film, Idak: The Goat, and he will soon start promoting another Marathi film, Youngrad, where he plays a cameo.
