Agroup of college students from a city college, Thakur College have reached out to Gurmeet Choudhary to be a part of street play based on the recently imposed plastic ban by the Maharashtra government. The college students wanted to spread awareness about the ban and thought that staging a play would be a good way to do that.

A source close to the actor reveals, “When the students approached Gurmeet with the idea, he founded it very interesting. So, he arranged for a meeting with them and heard their entire idea of performing a street play to address this pressing issue. The plastic ban by Maharashtra has helped cut down plastic consumption in colleges so the students want to reach out to more people to o help spread the message. Gurmeet has asked them to work on the final script. The play will be performed towards the end of the month in three four different locations such as Bandra, Juhu and Versova.”

Talking about the same, Gurmeet says, “When these kids came and met me and told me about addressing the issue of plastic ban, I was quite surprised with how they were taking responsibility towards spreading awareness about this in the society. I felt it was my duty to be part of it. I hope it gives a correct message to the people and more and more people come forward to promote the cause and help us to make our city a clean and healthy place.”
