It’s been a little more than three months since actors Angad Bedi and Neha Dhupia got married in a private ceremony. The two are having the time of their life going on holidays and making memories. In a candid chat, Angad talks about how he’s enjoying this new phase, deals with negativity that people spread on social media and more.

How has life changed after marriage?

Now, I want to come home to a partner, and I really look forward to spending time with Neha. She has got a great sense of humour. We speak the same language, so we always have so much to share.

Are your conversations mostly centred on work?

No. In fact, we hardly talk about it; our conversations are mostly about food, travel, sports and of course, families. We have a group chat with both our parents and in fact, my father and Neha converse the most on it. Both of them get along very well.

What’s that one thing that you’re enjoying the most about this postmarriage phase?

It’s a rosy phase and she asks me every day what I want to have for dinner. And I keep teasing her saying, ‘Yeh toh abhi naya naya hai. Wait for six months’. I wish you keep on asking me this for many years to come.’

Neha is a fairly established name in Bollywood. Does it ever make you insecure?

I feel proud when I see her do so well. She has done some great work in Bollywood and has made a name for herself. She is an accomplished woman and I treasure it because she gives me a great perspective on life. Neha has kept her relationship with people intact. It’s easier said than done but to be a liked person by all is not easy. And Neha does it effortlessly.

Soon after your wedding, trolls started ridiculing the fact that you are two years younger to Neha .... I don’t know who has made this rule that the girl has to be younger than the boy. People have to be compassionate and get along well. I don’t see that coming in way of anyone. That’s more important.

Neha’s pregnancy rumours soon became the talk of the town and you’ve always stood up for her. Are you both done with this social media bullying?

We feel if one has been given a platform to interact with others openly, it shouldn’t be misused. If you want to have a critical viewpoint, please put forward, that’s understandable. But if you want to pass nasty comments, I won’t take it, [especially as a husband]. If you have nothing nice to say, then don’t say at all.
