IT’S A DREAM TO WORK WITH SUJOY: TAAPSEE
Taapsee Pannu is currently travelling across the country for the promotio of her upcoming release Manmarziyaan, but she hasn been in India for the past couple of months. In fact, unt recently, the actor was shooting in Scotland for Sujoy Ghosh’s upcoming thriller, starring Amitabh Bachchan. The film, which will see Taapsee play a successful entrepreneur, will mark her first collaboration with the award-winning director.
But before this project happened, Taapsee and Sujoy came close to working together several times. A source close to the actor reveals, “Taapsee, who has spoken out in the past that she has wanted to work with Sujoy, recently mentioned that the two of them have been trying to work together for the past three years, but couldn’t get around to collaborating due to some reason or the other. Conflicting schedules were the major reason that prevented them from working together, but now, she is more than happy to be able to work with him. The icing on the cake is that this film reunites her with her Pink (2016) co-star, Amitabh Bachchan.”
Speaking of the several hits and misses the two have endured when it comes to working with the other, Taapsee says, “After a threeyear struggle to find a film for each other, we finally managed to pin each other down for this movie. It was a dream to work with a director like Sujoy. It’s going to be a riveting thriller.”
Earlier, the actor had said in a statement, “Thriller is Sujoy’s favourite genre and I am yet again out of my comfort zone, which is what I enjoy the most. People wait to work with him (Bachchan) and I got to work with him twice in two years. It’s very exciting and I hope the magic is repeated.”
