ESHA BATS FOR KERALA RELIEF EFFORTS
The actor has been using social media to urge her fans to donate to the state’s flood relief efforts
Esha Gupta has lately been urging her friends to raise awareness about the areas in Kerala affected by floods and be actively involved in the state’s flood relief fund. The actor posted a video on Instagram earlier this week, urging her fans to contribute to the relief efforts by donating supplies, clothes and essentials. She said, “Guys it’s an appeal, after getting updates from people stuck in Kerala, please try and give supplies, food ,clothes, diapers, dog food, medicines, whatever items you think are needed at such time. More importantly, a lot of places and people including myself have been collecting supplies, but have no way for it to reach beyond Bangalore due to transportation issues. Cochin airport is shut, and landslides are occurring towards other sides. So, if somehow we can make our voice heard for transporting supplies, it would be great. United we stand #keralafloods #humanityforkerala (sic).”
A source close to the actor says, “Esha has also urged her celebrity friends to come forward to donate and request their fans to do the same to amplify the donation drive. She has been very active on Instagram for the cause and started a campaign, and has been reposting Dino Morea, Sonal Chauhan, Ali Fazal’s Instagram videos. Esha has been constantly sharing information and updates on the cause, and her Instagram is currently filled with flood relief websites. She is requesting her fans to visit the websites and donate as much as possible. While many celebrities have made monetary contributions, Esha believes that giving is not just about making a donation. It is about making a difference.”
Esha says, “I urge people to come forwards and donate, since we all can see how miserable the conditions are. I have seen animals, babies and supplies going down the drain and my heart melts looking at it. I am not getting any benefit out of it nor the government; we should do this for our people and humanity, because that stands above everything.”
