‘Eating in moderation has always worked for me’
HEALTH -STRUCK WITH SANDEEPA DHAR, ACTOR
Which is the one breakfast item that you must have?
It would be a vegetable juice. No matter how late I’m running, I make sure I don’t miss my vegetable juice.
One fattening food item that you just can’t resist?
It would definitely be chocolates. I’m a huge chocolate addict.
How do you get back in shape post a fattening indulgence? The first thing that I do is totally cut off carbs post 6pm. That always works for me and I instantly lose weight with that little trick.
Do you prefer mini meals? What do they normally contain?
I’m the kind of a person who eats frequently but I eat small portions of food. I have mini meals that are a good combination of proteins, fibres and carbohydrates. I’m not a fan of deep-fried food items and junk food. So, I usually eat soy chips, salami sandwich or a delicious avocado toast.
A diet plan that always works for you?
Eating in moderation has always worked for me. Do you work out at home? What are the exercises you follow?
I do most of my workout at home. I practise ashtanga yoga five times a week with the assistance of my trainer. Apart from this, about three times a week, I also train for mixed martial arts.
Do you prefer outdoor or indoor physical activity?
I’ve always been an outdoor kind of person. So, I prefer an outdoor physical activity over indoor.
Which are your favourite physical activities? Dancing, swimming and trekking.
A health tip that you rely on.
I always eat right. No matter how much one exercises, if the diet isn’t correct, it’s not going to help you. There are times when I don’t get to work out and I think I’m saved just because I eat right. I’m extra cautious about what I eat and maintain a balanced diet between proteins and carbohydrates. Also, I avoid eating junk. So that’s my word of advice for anyone who wants to lose weight or lead a healthier lifestyle.
