Vivek is proud of his body

Vivek Dahiya has a new passion: the actor has been pumping iron for the past three months, and the effort has earned him a fitter, healthier body. The Kavach actor says, “I was inspired to get a fitter body when I went to Budapest, Hungary. I saw that the Europeans work out no matter what. It is in their lifestyle; it’s not a choice. They plan their day and fit exercise in their daily schedule. Also, the various kind of workouts they do and the diets they follow really inspired me. I shoot daily for my TV show and alternate between getting a good night’s sleep and working out. After four hours of travelling to and from the sets and shooting for 12 hours every day, I am unable to exercise and get enough sleep. Discipline and dedication gives you the body shape you work for.” Vivek admits that sticking to a diet and managing his food intake is also a task for him.

Vivek has always been fit, but he wanted to get a muscular look, which he feels is quite appealing onscreen and helps him be agile as well. Vivek adds, “Having a huge, muscular body is a no-no these days, but having an athletic physique, being more agile and fit is appealing. My body is more defined and more toned than ever. It took me three months to get this way, and I am very happy with the results. It looks good on me and on the screen, too. I think actors should not have a very defined physique, as it limits their roles.”

Many male actors don’t shy away from baring their torso on-screen, and Vivek is now confident that he’ll be able to pull off such scenes as well. “If the producers want, I will not shy away, as I feel confident about taking my shirt off in front of the camera. Earlier, I was hesitant, but now I am proud of my body. If showing my body adds value to a scene or is necessary, then why not?” he says.
