Very few actors get the chance to work on various mediums, which is why actor Kashmira Irani feels lucky to have worked in television shows, theatre and films. Kashmira is currently focusing on films and will be shooting for the Salman Khan-starrer, Bharat, next month. She is all praise for director Ali Abbas Zaffar and is looking forward to working with him again after Tiger Zinda Hai (TZH; 2017). She says, “Cinema was my ultimate career goal and I am glad I got the chance to work with some of the best in the business. I worked with Vishal Bhardwaj sir in Rangoon (2017) and Ali in TZH. I didn’t mind the length of the role, because I wanted to learn. Ali is so focused and wonderful as a director. I didn’t have any screen time with Salman sir in TZH, but in Bharat, I will be working with him. I can’t wait to shoot with Salman sir. I will give my all to this film, and I am excited to be a part of this ensemble.”

Kashmira started her career with the TV show, Amber Dhara, in 2007 and later

was seen in shows like Seven, Dharmakshetra, and Dosti... Yaariyan... Manmarziyan. She credits TV for making her a confident actor. She says, “I started my career with television and it taught me a lot. I was able to live my dream of being an actor on television. It also made me quite active as an actor and the constant work kept me on my toes. Only by performing constantly can you hone your craft and become better. Trying to make every scene seem new and fresh was challenging. I also got a lot of popularity on TV, and I loved the satisfaction I got by working every day. I also refrained from doing the run-of-the-mill shows.”

Kashmira worked in the musical play, Zangoora – The Gypsy Prince, and ventured into films soon after. She admits that doing theatre and films has helped her evolve as an actor. She says, “It is a different high being in front of the camera and a live audience. Zangoora made me very instinctive as an actor, as you have to be alert on stage. You can’t goof up, and if you do make a mistake, you have to cover it up and move on seamlessly.”
