A new start: Farhan Akhtar set to release his first single this week
THIS IS A COMPLETELY NEW AREA FOR FARHAN AKHTAR, BECAUSE HE DOESN’T KNOW THE DYNAMICS OF SINGLES FIRSTHAND. HOWEVER, HE WANTED TO EXPLORE THIS NEW WORLD FOR A LONG TIME.
Besides earning accolades for his stellar acting, directing and writing skills, Farhan Akhtar has impressed music lovers time and again with his vocal talent as well. But till date, he has stuck to crooning chartbusters for movies and his live shows. Now, we have learnt that Farhan is set to release his first-ever Hindi single, ‘Jaane ye kyun kiya’, as an independent singer and songwriter.
A source close to Farhan says, “His single will release on October 5. He is really excited and looking forward to it, because this is his maiden tryst with a single.” Apparently, the music video of the song was shot with Farhan in Iceland around late June.
“This single is very special to Farhan also because he hasn’t just penned it, but also recorded it besides featuring in the music video. Also, it’s a completely new sphere for him, because he doesn’t know the dynamics of singles firsthand. However, he wanted to explore this new world as a musician for a long time,” says the source.
For the single, Farhan collaborated with composer, instrumentalist and lyricist, Rochak Kohli, who has produced the song. Farhan couldn’t be reached for a comment on the same. Interestingly, earlier this year, Farhan made his singing debut in Telugu with South superstar Mahesh Babu’s film, Bharat Ane Nenu. He had lent his voice to the song titled, ‘I don’t know’.
On the acting front, Farhan is currently in the midst of shooting for The Sky is Pink that also features Priyanka Chopra and Zaira Wasim of Dangal fame. His last two production ventures, Fukrey Returns (2017) and Gold hit the bull’s eye at the box office.
