Our journey has come full circle, says Arjun Kapoor

It’s been over six years since they first worked together in Ishaqzaade (2012). Now, as Parineeti Chopra and Arjun Kapoor team up again for Namaste England, the latter feels life has come full circle vis-à-vis their equation with each other. Arjun made his big screen debut with Ishaqzaade, which was Parineeti’s second film.

“I am not saying this to sound modest, but to be honest, you can’t create these things [equations]; they just happen. Some equations in your life happen on their own. So, to go from a place of hatred, irritation and anxiety towards each other at the start of Ishaqzaade, to now, I feel the journey has come full circle a very nice way,” he says.

Terming their relationship as a “ve unique” one, Arjun feels usually, acto never “reach a stage where they start understanding each other.” But that’s not the cas with these two. “For example, w we did the Ganpa photo shoot for HT Café, I automaticall knew that she would t little extra time to get re because we were supposed wear desi Indian outfits for the shoot. As an actor, too, I know that western dresses are easier [to wear]. So these are the kind of things we do for each other subconsciously. For us, it’s all about knowing each other’s strengths and weaknesses,” the Ki & Ka (2016) actor says.

The Mubarakan (2017) actor feels if either of them is having a “bad day”, nobody would get to know. “And it is always important. You have 300 people running around for you [on a lm set] so, if you can get along nd make life easier, it’s great, especially on a film like Namaste England. There are certain films that thrive on working under pressure and burden. But our idea is, through our new film, everybody has to feel the happiness. That energy was there on the sets because subconsciously, we both were comfortable with each other,” he says.
