I have learnt so much from Pradeepda, says Patralekhaa
City Lights (2014) actor Patralekhaa is excited about playing a Bengali girl in Arranged Marriage, a short film directed by Pradeep Sarkar as part of an anthology. Set in Kolkata, the film “is very progressive and will resonate with a large section of audiences” says Patralekhaa.
For the role of a Bengali woman, Patralekhaa took references from Madhubhala in movies such as Tarana (1951) and Chalti Ka Naam Gadi (1958) for her look. A source close to her reveals, “Pradeep da wanted her to look like a traditional Bengali married woman and Patralekhaa was more than willing to do all that it takes. In real life she is a Bengali so she is quite excited to shoot in Kolkata. While she has never stayed in the city, she has been there twice, because of her work and personal commitments, and can’t wait to go back. “
Talking about her experience of working with the film-maker, Patralekhaa says,
