Sania and Athiya’s noble initiative
Sania Mirza and Athiya Shetty have ollaborated for Mana Shetty’s Save the Children nitiative to raise unds for child ducation. They have shot for a pecial ampaign with he kids. aborating on the initiative, Athiya says, “There will be a fashion exhibition to curate fashion for a greater purpose. By joining hands with an organisation, which has been the fundraising arm of Save The Children India, we will find solid support and reach out to a diverse audience, thereby creating a greater awareness for Save The Children India, and the importance of educating children.”
Athiya adds that the proceeds from the exhibition would be used to support the vocational training of adolescent girls from the slum communities, and education of special children. “Coming from impoverished families, they have no access to education. We use the platform to speak about our cause through our social media campaigns and also on-day show collaterals, to let all our supporters know that they are the real changemakers.”
Athiya says that Sania was extremely forthcoming to lend her support to the cause. “She’s not only a fantastic sportsperson, but a fantastic human being who is constantly spreading positive energy. It was lots of fun shooting with the children, being able to interact with them,” says the actor, adding that Sania is very committed to the cause of education and the impact it has for the future. “Education is not a privilege, it’s a right regardless of your gender or where you come from,” Athiya adds.
