Mouni Roy’s balancing act
After making her Bollywood debut with Akshay Kumar in Gold last year, Mouni Roy has an interesting line up of projects releasing in 2019. The actor is currently working on three movies Made In China, Romeo Akbar Walter and Brahmastra, simultaneously.
Since she’ll be playing different characters in her forthcoming films, she had to adhere to different workout and diet plans for each role. A source informs, “In Made in China, which also features Rajkummar Rao, Mouni plays the role of a housewife and will be seen sporting traditional Gujarati attire. In order to look her part, she had to gain a few extra kilos. For the same, Mouni gave up her rigorous gym sessions and took up running and jogging. Similarly, for Romeo Akbar Walter, Mouni had to follow a unique diet and workout regime. She was advised to emphasise on the consumption of fruits and vegetables, besides the intake of lean protein sources like more fish and beans.”
“For Brahmastra, where Mouni will be sharing the screen with Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Amitabh Bachchan, dietician Angie Kassabie helped her with her diet, while they shot in Bulgaria,” the source adds.
Talking about the same, Mouni says, “Working on these three different projects has turned out to be quite an interesting yet a challenging journey. In order to maintain the authenticity of the characters and look the part respectively that I am playing in all the films, I had to follow different workout pattern and that was quite taxing.”
