Television’s popular face, Vivian Dsena has had a steady, successful career for the past 11 years. The actor, who rose to fame with the Ekta Kapoor show, Pyaar Kii Ye Ek Kahani, finished school and followed his passion to be an actor, while studies took a back seat. However, the 31-year-old doesn’t regret not having a college degree.

“I think education is must. I was a decent student in school and got above average marks. I had cleared the All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) exam as well, but as modelling was my passion, I pursued that. I chose a career over education. Education is important but I believe one should be a good human being first,” says Vivian.

Vivian hails from a humble family and to the actor, personal growth and peace hold more importance than monetary fulfilment. Explaining this philosophy of life, Vivian says, “Money is important but at the end of the day, it is not everything. It can’t bring you happiness or buy you peace, else every millionaire in the world would have been a happy person. Money is needed for survival and not to show off my materialistic gains on social media. I live a simple life. I drive a basic car, and most of the time, roam around in chappals, shorts and tees. One needs to understand that after we die, we won’t be able to take any of our possessions with us. So, let’s not get too serious about them.”

After completing his stint in an ongoing show, the actor is on a break, enjoying his downtime. Not afraid of being blotted out of audience memory, Vivian feels if actors are associated with memorable concepts, the fans remember them for years. “People still recall my characters from all my shows — Kasamh Se, Pyaar Kii Ye Ek Kahaani and Madhubala. There should be good recall value of your work and that can happen only if the concept and qauality of the show is fabulous. Each actor has his own career plan. Mera toh theek chal raha since last 10-11 years,” he concludes.

Education is important but I believe one should be a good human being first.
