Dalljiet Kaur is all set for a new venture. After quitting her ongoing drama, she will now be seen in the reality show hosted by Salman Khan.

The actor, who started her career as a good ‘bahu’ and ‘beti’, in shows including Kulvaddhu and Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon, switched sides and has been exploring negative roles on TV, including Kaala Teeka and her latest show, and being appreciated for them too.

She says she is “thankful to the makers” for giving her a powerful negative role in their show, which is one of the best roles in her career. She adds, “After the goody-two-shoes kind of roles, getting nasty comments for my character is fun for me. I am loving it. This role challenged and evolved me as an artist. I didn’t know I would be so hated for the role (laughs). I owe my career to the producers for having trusted me with the fantastic role of the antagonist.”

She is glad that the producers understood the “opportunity”. “I have worked in the industry for several years and I have been part of many shows but when I spoke to the producers about my decision, they were understanding. They didn’t make it awkward or difficult. They said if you feel the new show will help you grow in your career or is beneficial for you, then go ahead.”

The actor is also thrilled with the compliments she has got for her physique. “I lost a lot of weight in the recent past. But after Ekta Kapoor gave me a role in Qayamat Ki Raat where I played a 25-year-old that set things in motion and I began getting younger roles and was able to break the stereotype of being cast in the sister or mother’s roles,” she

concludes.
