Mrunal Jain can be called one of the fittest actors in the TV industry today. What’s even more surprising is that he follows a purely vegetarian diet. When asked if it is even possible to build a near-perfect body on pure veggies, the actor says, “Being a vegetarian makes me feel positive. As a Jain, we believe in not harming animals. I believe in ‘jaisa ann waisa mann’. I’m when it comes to my food habits, but sometimes, even I eat junk food. However, at the end of the day, it’s all about how you take care of yourself,” he says.

In fact, he says that his mother and wife help him maintain his diet. “They are very particular. From my morning milk to lunch and dinner, everything is taken care of by the women in my house. I cannot think of life without these two women, ,” he says. The actor often urges his friends to try a vegetarian diet. “It is their choice. I can’t force them to turn vegetarian, but I do tell them the benefits of being a vegetarian. I tell my friends to imagine the situation of a hen being kept in a cage who knows what her fate is? And imagine the pain they go through under the butcher’s knife,” says the actor.

Not only is Mrunal a vegetarian but he has also given up on onions, garlic and potato for the past 25 years. “Everything is manageable, nothing is impossible. If you want to follow your religion, you have to do it from your heart. People are surprised when they hear that I don’t eat non-veg more so not even onion and garlic,” says Mrunal.

I can’t force people to turn vegetarian, but I do tell them the benefits of being a vegetarian.
