Wait! How is the weight, sir?
Actor Vicky Kaushal may not be the most beefy and brawny actors around, but he is not the most lean and lanky either. If you are wondering as to what’s making us state this visual truth, then you have probably missed seeing his latest pictures in which he looks much slender. Yes, like the one in the inset above.
So, we did a bit of digging around, and learned that he is indeed 13 kilos lighter. On further encouraging people to spill the tea on the motive, we also got to know the reason behind it is his next film.
“Yes,Vicky has lost about 13 kgs in just three months for Udham Singh (his next film with filmmaker Shoojit Sircar). He has lost all that weight to play the younger portions of Singh,” a source told us.
“It wasn’t an easy task but he was clear about shedding the weight in order to look convincing as a 20-something boy,” the insider added. And we are told that Sircar is “extremely impressed” with Vicky’s commitment. While the weight might be low, the josh is definitely high.
One can imagine that it must have been a challenge for this 31-year-old actor at another level, because he is a foodie. “At the end of the day, he is a Punjabi boy who loves his food, but he knew he had to control his urge. So, he was on a strict controlled diet for close to three months. Plus, he worked out diligently with his trainer on a daily basis to get the right body frame. There was no way he would have given up as he knew the importance of acquiring the lean look,” says the insider.
Vicky leaves tomorrow (Oct 2) for a 25-day schedule slotted for Amritsar, Punjab.
But that’s not all! The actor will need to gain all the weight back, and maybe some more, immediately after wrapping up this one, for yet another film, Takht, in which he plays emperor Aurangzeb. “Vicky has no choice but to take up the challenge because Takht goes on floor in Feb, soon after Sircar’s film.” Vicky couldn’t be reached for a comment.
