While he is deeply passionate about his work, Arjun Bijlani, who is currently hosting a reality show, says that it’s important for actors and technicians to get some time off as well. Talking about the importance of rejuvenation, he says, “There should be a weekly off for every actor and technician, at least one day a week. The TV industry is very demanding, so much so, that people often fall sick. I know so many people who have died on set because of the stress levels and work hours.”

Highlighting other changes that the television industry must implement, he adds, “They should make shorter stories like limited series. I think the quality that web series are offering now is amazing. Having said that, I know it’s going to take some time and it is not going to happen immediately. But it will definitely take TV to a different level. The audience’s sensibilities have changed as they are exposed to different types of content.”

The actor has done a wide variety of shows, be it a youth centric or a supernatural thriller, and now a reality show. When asked about his dream role, he says, “There are many; I want to play an army man’s role, a cop and even a doctor at some point. As an actor, I want to explore all kinds of characters and prove to people that I can play everything.”

On prodding him further about how he likes to utilise his “me-time”, Arjun says, “It’s just watching my son play. I enjoy spending time with him — painting with him, or even swimming with him…That’s my way of unwinding.”
