Karan Wahi’s going green
When Karan Wahi was approached for a tree plantation drive in a school, he was more than glad to be a part of it. On October 4, he was part of an initiative called #NavraTree, which was held at the Khar Education Society. Marking the occasion, Karan visited the school and encouraged students to plant trees and help preserve the environment.
“Global warming is a really serious issue and we can, at least, take basic steps to protect our environment. Planting trees and switching from plastic to copper bottles is the least we can do,” says Karan, who also offered to conduct workshops on tree plantation drives at the school in the “near future.”
The actor says he enjoyed being part of the initiative and adds that he is concerned about the environment. He adds, “It was a really pleasant and enriching experience. Plus, it was lovely to spend the morning with enthusiastic young children. We planted a few saplings together which was fun. I would like to give credit to the school that took the initiative. I feel more schools should follow suit. It’s very important for the society to know the importance of planting trees. Everyone, especially in their particular areas, should plant trees. It doesn’t take a lot of effort and it may be a long process but it’s definitely worth the wait. Considering what’s happening around the globe, it’s important that we act now.”
