The ninth Taiwan Higher Education Exposition (THEE) will be held from October 17 to October 19, at the Bombay Exhibition Center (BEC). THEE is sponsored by the Ministry of Education of Taiwan (Republic of China) and is organised by the Program Office of Taiwan Education Center in India (TEC) at National Tsing Hua University.

THEE will be held in parallel with Smart Asia Expo and Summit held by Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA). These two expositions combined will be the biggest event organised by Taiwan in Mumbai this year.

In total, 10 Taiwanese higher education institutes and 71 companies will be gathering at BEC to showcase higher education, industrial trends and career prospects in Taiwan. In addition, a discussion on Taiwan Higher Education and AcademiaIndustry Collaboration will be conducted on the first day along with the event. Students who register in advance and participate in the forum will have a chance to win exciting gifts.

Taiwan is well-known for its safe and friendly environment, especially for international students and business people from the world over. Moreover, highly affordable living costs and tuition fees, and only a sixhour flight from India makes Taiwan an excellent choice for Indian students who want to pursue their higher education overseas. As the Taiwan government’s New Southbound Policy has been implemented since 2016, Taiwan has been making constructive efforts to expand ties with India. In 2018, there were 2,398 Indian students in Taiwan, which is a 56% increase compared to the number of Indian students studying in Taiwan in 2017. We believe that these numbers are expected to increase year on year.

Ten top-ranking institutes from Taiwan will attend the THEE to present their innovative and exciting academic programs in person, in addition to providing details about scholarship and internship opportunities in Taiwan. These institutes include National Tsing Hua University, National Chung Cheng University, National Sun Yat-sen University, National Yunlin University of Science and Technology, Kaohsiung Medical University, Soochow University, Chinese Culture University, Nanhua University, Asia University and Program Office of Taiwan Education Center in India at National Tsing Hua University.

THEE, a three-day event with free entry, welcomes all Indian parents and students and encourages them to talk directly with various university representatives and know more about Taiwanese universities and Taiwan’s education system.
