The length of my hair is God’s gift, says Aasiya

She has been in the industry for over 10 years and is known for her roles in Bandini, Dharampatni, and Hitler Didi, among others. But other than her acting prowess, Aasiya Kazi is also famous for her hiplength hair. Ask her why she chose to maintain the length and she says, “I feel the length of my hair is God’s gift as my mum and grandmum too had long hair. Once, I got a shoulder length hair cut in school out of anger. I wanted fancy layers in my hair like the other girls but my mum didn’t agree and I did it out of rage. Once they grew back, I never cut them.”

Being an actor on TV, it is tough to style long hair as she has straight hair. Asiya tries to keep her original length and faces problems when she has to wear a wig. “It’s a task to wear a wig as I have to make three plaits and pile them on my head, which is quite heavy. Wherever, I go for any shoot or show, my hair is always tied up and as soon as I open my hair the hairdressers are always shocked and at times, clueless as to how to style it (laughs). They aren’t used to dealing with this length of hair, so they get a little stressed.”

In her ongoing TV comedy, she has managed to pull off a style that works for her. She sports her hair in a long braid which works well for the look and her.
