Armaan’s Rajinikanth connect

- Nikita Deb ■ ARMAAN MALIK, nikita.deb@htlive.com

Having crooned superhit tracks such as Theher Ja (October; 2018), Pehla Pyaar (Kabir Singh) and Tu Hi Yaar Mera (Pati Patni Aur Woh), singer Armaan Malik has undisputably cemented his position in the music industry. And one of the things that he appreciates most about his role as singer is giving voice for superstars in the film industry. This time, too, he has crooned a song for superstar Rajinikanth marking his second association with

the actor.

The song for Tamil film, Darbar, is called Tharam Maara Single, and Armaan’s Hindi version is titled Dil Toh Cute Hai. The song is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, of Kolaveri Di

fame, and written by

Raqueeb Alam.

Armaan shares, “It’s an honour to sing for Rajini sir for the second time, that too, for a project helmed by one of my favourite directors — AR Murugadoss. What’s even more special is that Anirudh Ravichander has composed the music and I’ve always wanted to collaborate with Anirudh. I am so glad that it happened through this massive project. Dil Toh Cute Hai, as the name suggests, is a very fun, quirky track and it’s very different from my usual slow, romantic vibe. It’s bound to get you grooving and addicted to the beats. I can’t wait for all my fans to hear this side of my singing.”

“This is my second song for superstar Rajinikanth after Mechanical Sundariye from 2.0 (2018). I cannot share the amount of happiness and joy I had going behind the mic for Rajini sir,” adds Armaan.
