It’s a “strange feeling” for Mohit Malik as his popular ongoing television show is all set to go off air next month. “The moment the news was given to me, the first thought that came to my mind was not being able to spend time with the kids [actors who play his daughters in the show], Aakriti (Sharma) and Myra (Singh), with whom I share a beautiful bond,” says the actor.

Ask him if the news came to him as a shock and Mohit says, “Yes! I wasn’t expecting it. Earlier, we were informed that the show was taking a leap, and so, to be suddenly told that the show’s coming to an end and that we were wrapping up in a span of 15 days was a huge shock.”

For Mohit, it’s “difficult to move on” from the show because he had got very attached to it. “There’s a part of me which has accepted the news, and as an actor, I know that the show must go on. I’m in a conflict with myself, but eventually, I will have to accept the reality. Only a few days of shoot are remaining, and I hope I get to work with this incredible team once again,” shares the Doli Armaano Ki actor.

But what makes the actor happy is that the show became a trendsetter and set a benchmark for a new wave of shows on Indian television. “I’m proud of the run that this show has had. Never before has a musical or a father-daughter relationship worked so well in the history of Indian television. The show has raised the bar in terms of performance, presentation and original composition of music,” says Mohit.

The actor adds, “This show ruled television for a year. We were number one for a long time and that’s the kind of benchmark and milestone that we have achieved. The show gave the channel a great spot to launch more such shows. I’m confident that people are going to remember me and the show for a lifetime to come and I’ll be a proud father telling my kids that I was a part of such a cult show.”
