Variety is something that Shraddha Kapoor craves for and that reflects in her onscreen choices. From comedies, rom-coms, biopics and dramas to some hardcore actioners, the actor has not shied away from dabbling in myriad roles and genres in her decade-long career.

“It depends. I have an open mind, so my choices depend on what filmmakers want to cast me as. I want to be a part of content that connects with the audiences,” shares the actor.

Shraddha had two releases last year, namely Saaho and Chhichhore. And this year too, she has two — the just released Street Dancer 3D and the third part of an action franchise.

“This year is looking amazing. Every year, my only aim is to learn as much as I can as an actor and a human. Even in 2020, I’d like to learn more about acting as I believe that there’s a lot to be explored,” Shraddha says.

And in terms of choosing films, is there any particular process she’s going to follow in 2020? “Yes,” she says, adding, “I want to do new things and work with new energies and people and explore new sides to me as an actor. That’s what makes the whole process fun and challenging.”

This is Shraddha’s tenth year in the film industry. She started her career with Teen Patti (2010). Talking about the importance of actors to stay relevant, she says, “I’ll speak for myself; I want to evolve with cinema and really push the bar as I go along, being a part of different kinds of films, essaying a variety of roles.”

Shraddha, who is set to star alongside Ranbir Kapoor in a new film, also feels it’s time that she and her father, who were seen together in Teen Patti , do another film. “We worked together in my first film and haven’t been offered anything together after that. I would love to share screen space with him again. He is such an amazing actor,” she signs off.
