‘What applies to Bigg Boss, applies to marriage’

- CYRUS BROACHA

I am a 28-year-old woman and I’m going to get married in the next six months. It is an arranged marriage and I’ve met him only thrice. I want to get to know him some more to gauge his personality. Would you suggest some ways I could get to know him better in a short span of time? — PS

The Beatles had a song —actually, they had many songs, but this one was selfexplanatory — ‘To know him is to love him’. Unfortunately, the chances of you having a relationship like that are lesser than you contracting the Coronavirus. Also, if you’ve got the Coronavirus, then forget about this question and go see a doctor. And by a doctor, I don’t mean your homeopath. PS: Six months is a long time to get to know someone. In fact, I say use three months, and return three to him at a very low interest (sorry all the budget speaks is still stuck in my head). However, remember, that dating is one thing, but long text messages and phone calls will be far more eye opening. Above all, you need to take a short holiday together, maybe say five days in a hill station. All the paint comes off when people live together even for a short period of time. And what applies to Bigg Boss, applies to marriage.

I am a 26-year-old woman and I’ve been dating a guy for the last three years. We have good compatibility. However, he has anger issues and we keep fighting over every little thing. We have had discussions on the same but nothing seems to work. How do I work on this and help him manage his anger? — AS

The Roman General, Pupulis the IV and a half, was known by his pet name Trigger (of course, he also had a pet horse called Trigger, which led to all kinds of confusion, as you can well imagine). Trigger, (the man), was named so because of his poor impulse control. If a man stared at him, he had him executed. If a man did not stare at him, he has executed, as well. He routinely had people killed. Some say over 17,000 citizens, for as ridiculous, a reason as poor dental hygiene, or failure to cover nose and mouth whilst sneezing. Your guy also has poor impulse control. Around 14% of the human population have it. These 14% removed 21% from the general population, on impulse. Luckily, today, he can be medically treated, to rein in the impulse energy. As for pure anger management, there are laughter clubs, psychiatrists, and Facebook photos from the past, which can all have a soothing effect. Don’t waste time. Treat it as an illness, and get, ‘Trigger’, treated.

I am a 23-year-old guy and I’ve been single for a while now. However, I like someone at my workplace and want to approach him but I’m not really sure how would he react to this. What do I do? — NV

Okay NV, your question is about as clear as an MTNL line. I’ve run it by four experts, and they all concluded that they would rather deal with an MTNL line. I mean are you worried that he isn’t gay? Or are you worried that he just isn’t into you? Either way, surely you can find out if he’s gay or straight, or just a guy who likes boy bands? Today’s lovers are so lazy. Do a little research. Did he have a girlfriend? Does he hate Donald Trump? Does he have more than an average interest in figure skating? It’s not that difficult. Once you are sure that he’s on the same team, then see how he reacts to you normally. What’s the hurry? Study the market, before you invest. Of course, mutual funds are subject to market risk. Please read the offer document carefully before investing...

I am a 32-year-old man and I’ve recently got a divorce. My parents are asking me to marry someone else, but I don’t know if I’m ready for it once again. How should I make them understand this? They are adamant on me getting married a second time. — NT

‘Oops, you did it again’. Sorry, that line could be your biography title. I mean, if you got the Coronavirus once, would you fly back to China, so that you can get it again? How can parental pressure work a second time? Please explain to them that you are getting married, they are not. Or, better still if you are to marry again, they must do the same, in an expression of solidarity. Divorces are not easy. Look at Britain. Only a week since they divorced Europe, and everyone’s so upset. Show your parents your hands and feet. Explain how you are a separate person with limbs and organs, and completely different from them. It’s your life, your marriage, your divorce, your pain, and your parking spot. I mean, what kind of parents would put their son through the same thing twice? Maybe you divorced the wrong person, if you know what I mean?
