Shivin Narang, who’s currently part of the ongoing television series, Beyhadh 2, says he’s “happy” that his body of work includes a variety of projects across multiple mediums and he aims to not get slotted into a certain category. The actor says, “There’s a lot of typecasting surrounding actors and I always intended to defy that. My career graph is peppered with television dramas, youth shows, advertisements for big brands, music videos, a reality show, and a film that will soon release on a digital platform. The medium doesn’t matter to me.”

He says that he’s highly influenced by Shah Rukh Khan who started out as a television actor in the 1980s and Akshay Kumar who continues to shed his existing image with every film. Shivin shares, “Shah Rukh Khan is known as a romantic hero because of the kind of characters that he has played. But that doesn’t mean that he can’t play other characters. Akshay Kumar was popular as an action hero. Then he came to be known as a comic actor. He can effortlessly carry films of any genre on his shoulders.”

The Suvreen Guggal — Topper Of The Year actor believes that having started his television career at a younger age, he’s used to the long working hours that the industry demands. He elaborates, “I started doing television right after my teenage years. Yes, there are days when I feel low and I want to go for a vacation because travelling can be a pain as the shoot locations are really far away from the main city.”

But he opines that the hectic schedules seem “trivial” as he’s getting to live his dream and getting love from the audience. “I enjoy my job and I want to do projects where work doesn’t seem like pressure. Most of the times, I feel privileged and lucky that I got the chance to be an actor considering there are millions who’re toiling hard day in and day out to achieve their dreams. I’m very happy with the way things have shaped up for me,” Shivin concludes.
