After having hosted numerous reality shows including Halla Bol, The Voice, Nach Baliye 8 and The Remix, Karan Tacker will soon be seen in a Neeraj Pandey directed web show, an international espionage action thriller.

The Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai actor says, “The toughest part was to not talk about it while we were shooting for the web series. I gave an audition from the most unexpected place. I was holidaying in Mussorie,

Uttarakhand, and as there was not enough light in my hotel room to shoot the audition test, I ended up in a public toilet which had sunlight, shot a self-test and things got rolling.” The actor is elated to have got a project, which is in “a real space, deglam yet shot on a large scale”. Plus, he is thrilled to be working with an acclaimed filmmaker like Neeraj.

Having hosted many reality shows, Karan admits it has been a while since he acted. “I was definitely nervous as you have a whole crew relying on you delivering the shot in a stipulated time. I consider having nerves a plus, because if you don’t have that, then you are not putting your best foot forward. The nervousness was about the fact that there is a lot riding on you,” he says.

In the last couple of years, Karan was working on bagging acting projects and was “always interested in them”. “As an actor, you always want to work in a different space and keep yourself excited. When you are excited and happy doing what you are doing, that’s when people enjoy your work. It was never a conscious decision to leave acting on TV and only host shows, it happened organically. Reality shows are a fun space to be in and I enjoyed it. Additionally, the content on TV became slightly stunted for me so I naturally started to host more shows. Also, I never had thoughts about what I want to or don’t want to do on the web. I was primarily looking to work with a maker of this magnitude.”
