If you follow her on social media, you would know that besides being an actor, Kriti Sanon has an innate poetic side as well. But thanks to her hectic work schedule, the Housefull 4 (2019) actor usually doesn’t get much time to indulge in her ‘poetic’ passion. Now however, due to the ongoing lockdown across India, she is making the most of all the extra time in hand by spending time with family and also showcasing her poetic prowess. On Sunday, the actor put up a ‘love poetry’ on her social media. And last week, she shared a poem, titled ‘Thham jaa, theher jaa’, for her followers on social media. Along with the poem, she had put up a caption too: ‘We’ve been running too fast. It almost feels like we needed to PAUSE. We MUST.’

“I used to write poetry earlier also. But I guess I didn’t get enough time to indulge in it. For me, inspiration [to write poetry] p can be just a thought that strikes you anytime. Since we are at home these days, everything has come to standstill. Usually, our lives move so fast that it feels odd to not have anything to do, to be just at home and not have any agenda or future plan in your head,” says the actor adding that due to the lockdown, a “very noisy city” like Mumbai “suddenly fell silent,” which inspired her to write ‘Thham jaa, theher jaa.’

“You can actually hear birds instead of the usual honking of cars. The sky looks clearer. We’re used to the grey shade of the sea but suddenly, it’s a lot bluer. All of this made me think that nature was trying to give us a hint and tell us something. Maybe, we’ve been exploiting it so much without caring at all, that th it had to pause us. That’s what got me thinking. I didn’t plan to write it in Hindi but when I started thinking, the words came to me a lot more in Hindi. Usually, I never think much about whether to write in Hindi or English; it’s all about how it comes to me,” she says.

The actor, who will next be seen s in Mimi and Bachachan Pandey P (co-starring Akshay Kumar), says she “still writes poetry] every day.” “It has to

come to me naturally; a thought has to strike me to get me writing. Sometimes, that thought develops into something bigger and becomes a poem,” says Kriti.

Meanwhile, about the PMCARES fund, Kriti tweeted saying, “We all need to come together in this time of crisis! I pledge to contribute and do my bit!Guys.. Do whatever best you can.. small or big.. just contribute! It’ll save a life or help someone in need and eventually make India healthier Red heart.”
