On World Health Day, celebritie­s laud healthcare profession­als

At 63, the actor remains a fitness inspiratio­n for many. Even during the lockdown, he is maintainin­g a strict diet and workout routine to remain in good shape.

“I still follow my daily routine. My trainer Marc Mead is staying with me, so I can’t escape my workout. I am trying to be productive around the house. I make it a point that I workout twice a day and keep myself motivated. In fact, I have been keeping a keen eye on my diet. I feel staying fit is really important,” shares the ageless actor.

Kapoor is also making most of his lockdown time by creating memories with family members, talking of which, he says, “We’re just enjoying spending quality time with each other. It is something we don’t get to do a lot in the course of our normal lives, so this time is really precious. We even celebrated Sunita’s (his wife) birthday. It was an intimate family celebratio­n and was really special and memorable in its own way.”

Today is World Health Day and it comes at a time when doctors and healthcare workers are on the frontline, fighting a pandemic. As the country pins its hope on them to help sail through these tough times, the Bollywood celebritie­s are not behind in rallying their support.

Expressing his gratitude towards healthcare workers, actor Sidharth Malhotra adds, “Along with doctors, I also thank our police and sanitation workers. They are doing a fabulous job and keeping us safe.”

Hollywood actor Lee Fierro (above, left) died of Covid-19 complicati­ons, in the US. The 91-year-old is known for playing Mrs Kintner in the Jaws franchise. According to a report in The Martha’s Vineyard Times, Fierro’s family in Ohio plans a small service. Closer home, Bollywood producer Karim Morani’s daughter Shaza tested positive for Covid-19. Shaza returned from Sri Lanka in the first week of March while her sister Zoa came from Rajasthan on March 15.
