Ella Travolta pays tribute to late mum Kelly Preston
Sanitiser is a necessity today. But, how safe is it to have a sanitiser in, say, a car parked in a high temperature zone? Is the
American actor Kelly Preston’s daughter Ella Travolta honoured her late mother for having a “light that never ceases to shine” in a moving tribute following Preston’s demise after a two-year-long battle with breast cancer.
She posted a picture of her mother on Instagram, the caption for which read, “I have never met anyone as courageous, strong, beautiful and loving as you. Anyone who is lucky nnough to have known you or to have vver been in your presence will agree that you have a lowl and a ight that never eases to shine and that makes anyonen around you feel nstantly happy. Thank you for eing there for me no matter what. Thank you or your love. Thank you for your help and hank you for making this world a better lace. You have alcohol content in sanitisers high enough to be a fire hazard? “It’s a recent habit to hoard sanitisers because of the pandemic. I’ve kept them in various places, including my car. Recently when I had made life so beautiful and I know you will continue to do so always. I love you so much mama.”

Confirming that it isn’t a safe practice to keep sanitisers in cars, Joginder Singh, professor at an engineering college, says, “The heat inside a closed car can cause the chemical in sanitiser to form vapours. If anyone lights a cigarette in there, it can lead to an explosion.”
But, is there an alternative to alcohol-based sanitisers that can be safely kept in cars? Indeed, there is. Vidit Arora, who is working with a company manufacturing nonalcoholic virus disinfectant spray, says, “We’ve provided this spray to a cab aggregator. It’s being used to sanitise seats and surfaces. It can also be used on skin as an alternative to alcohol-based sanitisers. It’s pet-friendly, too! As it’s alcohol-free, so there’s no harm to store it in the car.”
