KABIRA KM 3000 AND KM 4000 Goa-based electric vehicle start-up, Kabira Mobility, has announced that it will launch two electric bikes in the country on February 15 — KM 3000 and KM 4000. While the former will be a full-faired sport bike model, the latter will be a naked electric street bike. Both the motorcycle­s promise to offer a slew of modern features such as combibrake­s, fast onboard charging, fireproof battery and Park Assist. They will sport a DeltaEV BLDC hub electric motor which is capable of propelling the vehicles to a top speed of 120 kmph while a fully-charged range is claimed to be 150 km. Pre-bookings for these e-bikes have already been opened.

SUZUKI BURGMAN STREET ELECTRIC

Suzuki Motorcycle India is all geared up to join the EV bandwagon with the electric version of the popular Burgman Street scooter. The EV has already been spotted doing rounds amidst testing on public roads. While technical details of the upcoming scooter remain scarce at the moment, Suzuki will likely be among the first big players in the country to introduce an allelectri­c offering. It is expected that the escooter’s official public debut might not be far away.

OLA ELECTRIC SCOOTER

Ola Electric, the electric mobility division of Ola Cabs, has commenced testing its upcoming electric scooter which is yet to be officially named. The company announced its entry into the premium electric two-wheeler market after taking over Etergo BV — an Amsterdam-based e-scooter OEM founded in 2014, last summer. The Ola e-scooter is reportedly capable of reaching a top speed of 100 kmph and has a fully-charged range of 100 km. Its developmen­t is already in full swing and it is expected to be rolled out in the market sometime in the second half of 2021.
