Mumbaikars have a new grocery app at their disposal now. Starting today, groceries and essentials can be delivered instantly with the all new KiranaKart app.

Similar to food delivery apps, KiranaKart delivers from trusted convenience stores near you. Currently, the app is available from Goregaon to Colaba, deliver

ing everything from cereal boxes to shampoo — all within one hour.

To promote their launch, KiranaKart is charging only ₹1 as delivery fee for their first 100,000 orders. The app is available on both — App Store and Play Store.

Beyond its technology and smooth user experience, the company has an incredible co-founder and CEO

story as well. KiranaKart was founded by Aadit Palicha and Kaivalya Vohra, two 18-yearold Stanford students from Mumbai who came back to build this instant grocery delivery solution. The team’s early-growth and vision led them to be funded by marquee investors, including Y Combinator, Global Founders Capital, and more.

KiranaKart now plans to use the funds to expand its 1-hour grocery delivery service across Mumbai before expanding to other metros. “We believe our technology-first approach will be a powerful edge over incumbents in this space. Unlike food delivery or ride-sharing, the instant grocery delivery market in India is far from conquered and we’re excited to tackle it head-on with a different approach,” says co-founder and CTO, Vohra.

The team’s immediate focus is to boost KiranaKart’s network of delivery drivers and convenience stores to handle its huge demand surge. In a comment, co-founder and CEO, Palicha says, “Demand has been through the roof and keeping up with it has been an exciting and challenging task.” Besides making a daily chore significantly easier for customers, KiranaKart has aligned its vision in support of local Indian businesses. With the rise of other e-commerce giants, Kirana stores are losing customers to corporations. Palicha and Vohra’s mission is to make it easier and quicker to order from local stores.
