‘Have to trust doctors and the people who invented the vaccine’

- Rishabh Suri

Actor Annup Sonii had kept himself busy right from when the lockdown restrictions were lifted in 2020, till the time they were imposed again last month. He completed many schedules of Satyameva Jayate 2 in Lucknow and admits that working amid the pandemic did induce apprehensions.

“I was in complete confusion. I shot for the first time in June 2020. I started my short film, The Relationship Manager. We all met face to face just once. We shot it with a unit of only seven people. Wahaan se himmat badhi,” says the actor, who was recently seen in web film Raat Baaki Hai.

Aware of the worsening situation, Sonii got himself vaccinated as soon as he became eligible for it. “We’ve to trust our doctors and the people who invented the vaccines. There are people who’ve been in human trials, who opted to be the guinea pigs. Yahaan aapke paas cheez aa rahi hai test hoke. I was sure about it,” he says.

Sonii also recalls how last few months — until he got vaccinated — were only about getting tested. He quips that he has lost the count of the number of RT-PCR tests he got done in the past six months. “Our film industry is being very cautious. I’ve got a special mask made for shoots. A normal mask sticks to the nose and mouth. So, the makeup gets affected... The special mask covers everything yet doesn’t stick. Insaan tareeke dhoond hi leta hai,” he concludes.

Our film industry is cautious. I’ve got a special mask made for shoots. ANNUP SONII,
