Day 6 of India Couture Week 2021, organised by Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) in association with the Hindustan Times, cocktail of the past and present.
Designers amalgamated modern techniques with classic silhouettes. The day started with designer duo Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna’s virtual presentation. The collection featured modern gowns, tuxedos with textural surface ornamentation, and hand embroideries inspired by traditional Indian crafts. They also introduced flirty fringed tuxedos for men.
The day further unravelled with designer Tarun Tahiliani’s collection, transporting us to an era bygone. The designs included signature draped garments, uniquely cut blouses, exquisite hand embroidered pieces crafted with Indian techniques and textiles used in modern ways.
The day came to an end with designer Anamika Khanna’s whimsical presentation, featuring monochromatic ensembles. Bejewelled head pieces and intricate tone-on-tone embroidery elevated the timeless collection.
